Description: Lew Fonseca professional model baseball bat c.1923-25. Louisville Slugger 125 model bat with Fonseca facsimile signature in the barrel measures 33.75" long and weighs 35.3oz. Very strong use is evident throughout with grain swelling due to repeated contact and there is a handle crack. The number "8" has been repeatedly stamped in the knob and once again in the centerbrand (reason unknown). There is a small remanent of a paper label affixed from when the bat was shipped back to Louisville Slugger and an area on one side was planed to accept side writing (this writing can not be seen).
