Description: Rare "Cannonball" Ed Crane handwritten letter with related stock certificate. Handwritten letter on lined paper dated "Nov. 20" has been signed "Edward N. Crane." It is signed again within the body which reads, "I Edward N. Crane do hereby transfer five shares of stock in the New York Base Ball Club held by me Michael Tiernan." Crane played (8) seasons of Major League baseball including stints with the Boston Reds, Providence Grays, Buffalo Bisons, Washington Nationals, New York Giants, Cincinnati Kelly's Killers and Reds, and Brooklyn Grooms. Included is the related stock certificate for (5) shares (not signed by Crane). Pieces show heavy wear including some chipping, corner/edge tears, and creases/wrinkles.
