Description: Rare 1939 Philadelphia Phillies road uniform. Original heavy gauge grey flannel jersey and pants as worn by the team owner's son who too part in baseball activities. Jersey presents beautifully with its original "Phillies" red on blue felt team lettering across the front. Spalding manufacturer's labeling remains affixed within the collar area along with size 38 and dry clean supplemental tags. Number "30" is found on the back with baseball centennial patch on left sleeve. with Matching pants are included with similar Spalding tagging. General condition is outstanding with appropriate light wear and age toning. the uniform was issued to the son of Phillies team owner Gerald Nugent who participated in team activities including batting practice. One of only scant few known examples of this tough and desirable 1930s uniform. Includes LOA from Hunt Auctions: EX-EX/MT
