Description: Significant 1891 Tim Keefe and John Montgomery Ward autographed New York Giants stock certificate (PSA/DNA 6 EX-MT) Important stock certificate is number (52) and was issued for (5) shares of "The National Exhibition Company" in the name of T.J. Keefe. Keefe has signed the back "T.J. Keefe" in period fountain pen with his Hall of Fame teammate and then Manager "John M. Ward" just below as a witness. It is also signed on the front by team President John B. Day and Treasurer J. W. Spalding. The signatures have been graded "EX-MT 6" by PSA however we feel that the grade, as it relates to both Keefe and Ward, is conservative and both are stronger. Keefe was one of the 19th Century's most dominating pitchers and helped to shape the game in its' formative years and Ward was no less important having left his mark on the game first as one of its' great early players and later as an executive. Together they helped lead the Giants to a Championship in 1888. Both represent two of the most sought after of all early Hall of Fame autographs and are notably rare and seldom offered. General wear with some light toning and scattered creases/wrinkles along with discoloration/residue along the left edge. "Cancelled" upon redemption with related stamps on the front and punch holes along the lower edge. Authenticated and encapsulated by PSA with "Stoneham Collection" pedigree noted on the label and includes the original "stub" portion from the Giants stock certificate book: Sigs.
