Description: Mike Tiernan autographed 1895 New York Giants stock certificate (PSA/DNA 6 EX-MT). Stock certificate is number (103) and was issued for (5) shares of "The National Exhibition Company" in the name of Michael Tiernan. "Silent Mike" spent all of his (13) professional seasons with the New York Giants and was a member of their 1888 and 1889 Championship teams. One of the games' great early sluggers he hit (106) career homeruns (good enough for 4th place on the list of 19th Century players) and compiled a (.311) lifetime batting average. Signed on the back "Michael Tiernan" in period fountain pen. It is also signed on the front by team President Andrew Freedman. The signatures have been graded "EX-MT 6" by PSA however that factors the Freedman, which is effected by punch holes, and in our opinion the Tiernan signature rates 7/8-8 out of 10. Mild wear to corners and edges with some scattered toning/discoloration and creases/wrinkles. "Cancelled" upon redemption with handwritten notation to that effect on the front and punch holes along the lower edge. Authenticated and encapsulated by PSA with "Stoneham Collection" pedigree noted on the label and includes the original "stub" portion from the Giants stock certificate book: Sigs.
