Description: 1895 Fred Pfeffer autographed New York Giants stock certificate (PSA/DNA 6 EX-MT). Stock certificate is number (22) and was issued for (20) shares of "The National Exhibition Company" in the name of N.F. Pfeffer. Pfeffer was one of the last barehanded fielders in baseball and spent (16) years in the Major Leagues playing with some of the most noted teams of the 1880s and 90s. Signed on the back "N. F. Pfeffer" in period fountain pen. It is also signed on the front by team President John B. Day and Treasurer J.W. Spalding. The signatures have been graded "EX-MT 6" by PSA however that factors the Day and Spalding, which are effected by cancellation stamps and punch holes, and in our opinion the Pfeffer signature rates 7/8 out of 10. Wear includes some scattered toning/discoloration and creases/wrinkles. "Cancelled" upon redemption with related stamps on the front and punch holes along the lower edge. Authenticated and encapsulated by PSA with "Stoneham Collection" pedigree noted on the label and includes the original "stub" portion from the Giants stock certificate book: Sigs.
