Description: April 17, 1960 Eddie Mathews 300th home run attributed baseball. Spalding W.Giles Official National League baseball showing expected use/wear has a more pronounced scuff on one side panel. Period ink notation (which was later traced/enhanced) reads, "#300 April 17, 1960 Robin Roberts Philadelphia Milw 7-4." The Braves played the Phillies at Connie Mack Stadium and Mathews hit his 300th career home run off Hall of Famer Roberts in the 7th inning (note - the Braves actually won by a score of 8-4, not 7-4 as noted on the ball).
