Description: Rare William "Dummy" Hoy single signed baseball (d.1961). Cream color J.deBeer & Co. "Lew Hayes" model ball signed across the sweet spot by Hoy in blue ink. Signature rates 8 out of 10. The ball is unused with few minor areas of wear and light vertical surface line in the second "m" of "Dummy". Hoy was a prolific centerfielder with several Major League teams from 1888 to 1902 notably after becoming deaf at a young age from meningitis. Hoy enjoyed an outstanding career with over 2,000 hits and .288 batting average. Highly uncommon single signed baseball as Hoy passed away in 1961.
