Description: Rare Mordecai "Three Finger" Brown single signed baseball (d.1948). Light to moderately toned National Sporting Goods "Major League" baseball signed on sweet spot, "To my friend Thesing Mordecai Brown". Blue ink signature range from 3 to 7 out of 10 due to some toning from clear coating towards the middle of Brown's first name. Small period blue ink date of 12-11-30 written on side panel. Brown was one of the elite pitchers of the deadball era using a tragic childhood accident that claimed part of two fingers to allow him to throw a devastating curve ball. He passed away in 1948 one year before his Hall of Fame election with single signature baseballs noted as very scarcely offered.
