Description: UPDATED: 1916-1918 Sterling Baseball "Sam Sam" Championship trophy cup with figural lid, *approx. 1,070 grams of silver* (VG-VG/EX). Original trophy cup engraved "SAM SAM - Championship Club - Base Ball - Won By Queen Quality - 1916 (3 -1), 1917 (1 - 0), 1918 (4 - 0)". The lid has three bats and baseball on top. Trophy measures 20" tall with the lid on. The base of the trophy is marked "NS Co. Sterling" and the lid is marked "Sterling" and "F.W. Parris Boston" around the rim. Exhibits scattered surface denting (mostly light) and typical surface discoloration. ***Trophy is missing its two handles and has small holes on the sides from where they were affixed***.
