Description: CORRECTED: 2001 Indianapolis 500 Winning Team ring (NM). The 85th Indianapolis 500 was held at Indianapolis on Sunday, May 27, 2001. Race rookie HÄlio Castroneves led the final 52 laps and won his first Indy 500. This ring was presented to one of Castroneves' team members named Glen Smith. The 10K gold ring features a *cubic zirconia* at the center (NOT a diamond as previously described) with "INDIANAPOLIS 500 - WINNING TEAM" raised lettering around it. One side is engraved "SMITH" with "Penske Racing", "First 68", "Second 66" beneath denoting Team Penske's first and second place wins in the race. The other side features the Indianapolis 500 Speedway with "2001" at the top. Inside is engraved with, "2001 I.M.S. Corp. - Glen Smith" and "HJ 10K." Made by Herf Jones Company, a notable championship ring maker. Ring exhibits minimal to no wear: NMFinal Bid: $3,218.00
