See a Picture of this Item 906 Rare Joe Adcock Milwaukee Braves warm up jacket c.1957. Handsome black satin style jacket with embroidered tomahawk logo on front worn by Braves first baseman Joe Adcock. Jacket is very clean overall with light usage wear, retains orig. Wilson tag in collar and applied linen tape with “ADCOCK-9” written in black ink. Jacket was obtained in the early 1960’s by a Canadian gentleman after the owner of the Braves Lou Perini had left it at the Pecanokee Summit Lodge in Quebec which was owned by one of his companies. The lodge was subsequently sold with its’ contents incl. the jacket. Lightly toned William Harridge red and blue stitched AL baseball signed by (24) individuals who were in attendance at a two inning Old Timers day game played between the “Antiques” led by Cy Young and the “Has-Beens” led by Walter Johnson. Signatures incl. Cy Young, W.Harridge, Thos. Shibe, Larry Lajioe, Elmer Flick, Tris Speaker, John Heydler, Kennesaw Landis, and Bill Wambsganss. Signatures rate between 4-9 out of 10 with majority better then 6. Fascinating story behind the game as a fight broke out between the two teams after Johnson attempted a pickoff of Lajoie at second base and shortstop Roger Peckinpaugh charged the umpire resulting in an escort from the field and general chaos between the two teams. Total listing includes: 1888 Detroit, 1888 Jersey City, 1888 Polo Grounds Opening Day, 1888 New York, Executives c.1888, 1888 Kansas City, 1888 Washington, 1888 New York, 1888 Philadelphia, New York c.1888, and 1888 Brooklyn. All were issued as supplement photos to the Sporting Times newspaper, each has various condition issues including separation, tears, losses, creasing, and toning (Call for detailed questions). The majority of the pieces do have the main image and identification border present so that when matted some will make for an excellent display piece. Breakdown is as follows: 1904 “M” team incl. (11) uniformed player cabinets and one manager; 1902 Norwich BBC team incl. (11) uniformed player cabinets and one manager; 1900 Norwich BBC team incl. (14) uniformed player cabinets and one manager; and 1899 Norwich BBC team incl. (12) uniformed player cabinets and one manager. Each grouping retains orig. frame with applied brass name plaque that reads, “George Madden” who was most likely a team member. Interesting albumen mounted photograph of (15) early professional players posed in street clothes in a studio setting. Players are identified on mount incl. In researching the image all of these players were with different teams and we could draw no conclusive theory on the relation in this image.
