Description: 1965 "Mickey Mantle Day" proclamation from the Mantle Collection. Large format presentational certificate dated September 18, 1965 and titled "Office of the Mayor, City of New York, Proclamation." Issued to "…Proclaim… Mickey Mantle Day in New York City, and call the attention of the citizens to the fact that: The Mayor's proclamation is presented to coincide with the day Mickey Mantle is to be honored by his friends and by the Yankees in special ceremonies at Yankee Stadium..." Signed by then Mayor of New York Robert Wagner. Framed to just under 17"x22.5" and the original Guernsey's Mickey Mantle Auction property/lot number sticker is on the front. In honor of his (2,000th) career game with the Yankees, Mantle was honored at Yankee Stadium with dignitaries on hand including Robert Kennedy and Mrs. Lou Gehrig.
