Description: 1971 Billy Martin Detroit Tigers professional model road jersey (Team letter - SGC/Grob "Superior"). Gray flannel jersey has "Detroit" team name across the front and "Martin 1" on back. The number (1) also appears on left sleeve. Rawlings tag in the collar notes size (40) and there is an additional on the front tail. Wash tag inside has adjacent "Set 1 #8P 1971" flag tag. A custom pocket is sewn inside (left front chest). In outstanding overall condition with appropriate use and wash wear along with some very minor staining. Includes a pair of November 1972 dated letters on Tigers team stationary from the Public Relations Director which were sent with the jersey to a collector (one intended to serve as a letter of authenticity). Includes LOAs from SGC (graded "Superior") and Hunt Auctions: EXEstimated Price Range: ($2,000-$4,000)
