Description: Rare Bill Russell autographed professional model basketball sneakers c.1960s (Style Photo Match)('Celtics' Green Color Variant). Highly desirable pair of original Adidas "Superstar" model green suede sneakers as worn by Russell with the Boston Celtics during the 1960s era. The sneakers exhibit very strong evident use to both the body and soles yet retain a fine visual appearance with proper patina. Adidas manufacturer's stamp in gold with "Superstar" model identifier printed on top of interior tongue area of each shoe. Each shoe is signed by Russell in gold sharpie on their respective side panels, a bit faded on the right shoe due to suede surface. This precise sneaker style is documented as having been used by Russell within numerous period photographs. The offered sneakers were the only green color variant examples remaining within the Russell Collection and will undoubtedly rate among the most significant of any player game shoes to have been offered at public auction.
