Description: 1951 Francis "Reds" Bagnell College All-Stars helmet (rare) and jersey with related material. Desirable ensemble as used by College Football Hall of Fame Inductee Bagnell in the August 18, 1951 game played at Soldiers' Field between the College All-Star team and Cleveland Browns. Includes a rare original helmet by Wilson with their logo impressed on front and model number/size on the back ("F2010...7 1/4). Finished in blue and decorated with red and white stars; Red jersey with three quarter length sleeves and white shoulders with blue star accents. Number "50" appears on both front and back and there are MacGregor Goldsmith (size 44) and wash tags on the crotch strap; period sepia toned photo (in 5.75"x14.25" frame) showing the All-Star Team in uniform (Bagnell in the back row, third player from the right) (mild visible wear with heavier creases on right edge); July 26, 1951 typed letter from Arch Ward on Chicago Tribune stationary (two pages, unsigned, chipping/wear) as sent to Bagnell regarding the upcoming game; original program with Bagnell listed on the College All-Stars roster as wearing number (50) (ink/marks on cover, general wear throughout, GD); and Bagnell's "All Stars 1951" red, white, and blue patch. Very desirable ensemble complete with a rarely offered helmet with outstanding provenance. Includes letter of provenance from the Bagnell Family: GD-EX
