Description: Fine Bobby Doerr Boston Red Sox professional model home uniform c.1948-50 (SGC/Grob: Excellent - MEARS "A8"). Cream colored flannel jersey has "Red Sox" team name across the front and number "1" on back. In the collar are "Tim McAuliffe" and "Wilson" tags with adjacent size "44" flag tag. A "Doerr" embroidered strip tag appears below. An additional embroidered strip tag in the tail reads "No Shrink." Included pants are tagged identically (McAuliffe/Wilson/"No Shrink", size 38) however embroidery on the player identification tag is no longer present. While this makes a definitive attribution to Doerr unlikely we are highly confident that given the similarities in tagging, and the outline of what likely read "Doerr", that these are a matched pair and represent a complete uniform. Both pieces remain in very fine overall condition with evident usage and wash wear. Jersey has some minor staining to the lower front below a pair of very small holes and lower right front has a tear/hole.
