Description: Unique Babe Ruth personal necktie c.1930s-40s. Art deco inspired gentleman's necktie very similar in style to other neckties as worn by Babe Ruth in various period images. Silk polychrome tie has "A. Sulka & Company" makers tag affixed to the back. This is the same retailer from whom the lounging robe which was likewise formerly owned by Ruth originated and we presume it was a favored store in which The Babe like to shop. It was recently found within the Ruth Family Collection and includes the envelope in which it was stored which has "Daddy's Necktie..." written on the outside in the hand of Julia Ruth Stevens. Evident usage and some light general age related wear including a few surface stains on tie front. Includes letter of provenance from the Ruth family and a modern copy of the Julia Ruth Stevens inscribed envelope: EXEstimated Price Range: ($2,500-$5,000)
