Description: Babe Ruth inscribed large format 1932 World Series photograph to Charles & Juanita (Ellias) (Ruth Apartment Photo Match). Rare oversized 12"x16" matted and framed photograph depicting the classic image of Ruth batting during the 1932 World Series. This particular image was believed to have been originally created for and utilized by Ruth's agent Christy Walsh for marketing promotions as it was frequently seen on photo postcards and other printed advertising items. The widely replicated image is always seen with a second generation rendering of an inscription by Babe Ruth, "Taken 1932 Cubs and Yankees World Series" which is present on this copy as well. However, this particular example was also inscribed by Ruth "To Charles & Juanita" at the bottom margin in blue fountain pen. Additionally, the original printing of Ruth's World Series inscription has been fully traced over in the identical blue fountain pen by Ruth as well. Inscription rates 8 out of 10. The photo itself presents very nicely with only some minor age crazing to the surface. This exact image is clearly visible in period photography taken at Ruth's apartment with its current offering presented in an updated, modern era, matting and frame. Very fine period display piece with relation to Ruth's most legendary World Series appearances. Includes full LOA from PSA and letter of provenance from the Ruth family: Photo: EX-EX/MT, Inscription: EX/MT-NM
