Description: Ted Williams single signed baseball inscribed to Mickey Mantle. Near white to white B.Brown AL ball signed and inscribed in black ink on a side panel, "To Mickey Mantle one of the greatest of all time Ted Williams." Signature and salutation rate 9 out of 10. While unclear as to why this particular baseball never got delivered to Mantle, it is abundantly clear the mutual respect these two iconic players held for each other. As evidenced by several other items within this auction, the two players held each others accomplishments in the highest regard. The offered ball may have been an initial attempt and redone or simply may have never been delivered, we will never know. We can state, however, that the offered baseball is one of the finest of its type extant as signed to, and by two, of the top ten players in Major League history.
