Lot offers an outstanding start on the classic 1949 Bowman set, with (167) different cards of the (240) issued, including (41) cards from the tough final series (#s 145 - 240). Highlights include #s 1 Vern Bickford RC (VG appearance; miscut on reverse), 11 Lou Bourdreau RC (EX), 23 Bobby Doerr (PR), 26 George Kell RC (VG/EX), 47 Johnny Sain (VG), 54 Marty Marion (GD), 65 Enos Slaughter (PR), 70 Carl Furillo RC (VG OC), 82 Joe Page (PR; ink writing on reverse), 85 Johnny Mize no name on front (PR; ink writing on reverse), 100 Gil Hodges RC (PR; ink writing on reverse), 110 Early Wynn RC (GD), 111 Red Schoendienst (GD), 114 Allie Reynolds (PR; ink writing on reverse) and 238 Bob Lemon RC (VG). IMPORTANT NOTE: There are (23) cards in the lot, including those mentioned above, with ink writing on the backs of the cards (approx. 14 %). There also appears to be a few trimmed cards in the lot.
