Description: 1956 Gum Adventure complete set (100) with tough #86 Schmeling (NM). Notable Gum Inc. nonsport trading card set of (100) different cards captures various adventurous themes, historical figures and legendary boxers. The key card in the set, however, is the #86 Max Schmeling card, a recognized short-print believed to have been pulled from production due the Nazi symbolism visible on the card. The offered copy is very PR condition with multiple creases and light paper loss, while other key cards are in much nicer shape, including #s 32 Jack Johnson (EX), 34 Jack Dempsey (EX), 41 Joe Louis (VG; staining on reverse), 44 Rocky Marciano (VG/EX), 89 Max Baer (EX/MT) and 90 Jim Braddock (EX/MT). Balance of the set, housed in pages, appears mostly EX-EX/MT with some better and some worse. Range: PR-NM.
