Description: Rare New York Sporting Times pictorial scorecard c. 1890s (VG). Rare color lithographic scorecard is beautifully designed with the colorful front incorporating images of John Ward, King Kelly, Jack Glasscock, Cap Anson, Buck Ewing, John Clarkson, and Charles Comiskey. These were some of the greatest stars of the period and all but one are now members of the Baseball Hall of Fame. Very fragile copy has interior scored in pencil with handwritten lineups detailing a game between the New York Giants and Boston Beaneaters. Back cover features colorful advertisement for รข??The Official Spalding League ball." Scorecard retains outstanding original color and fine presentation quality, with notable flaws including edge and corner wear on the cover and a partially split spine. Among the more appealing styles of early scorecard and notably scarce: VG. ($1,000-$3,000)
