Description: 1959 Willard Mullin original artwork - "A Little Magic On The Side" published in The Sporting News (EX) Outstanding original artwork by Williard Mullin is signed by the artist at lower right and titled along the top edge. Text relates to the potential formation of a third Major League (in addition to the American and National Leagues) and the large ballplayer illustration is formed of many smaller player drawings. Framed to 19.25"x24" for display and small "Sterling" marked placard mounted below the art reads "Willard Mullin Best Sports Cartoonist 1958" and presumably came off an award which he was given. Mounted to the back of the frame is the front page of the July 1, 1959 edition of The Sporting News (trimmed at edges) which shows the artwork in print.
