Description: Rare 1963 Mickey Mantle All-Star Game presentational clock (EX-EX/MT). Brass presentational clock has an engraved placard mounted on the top that reads, "All Star Game 1963, Mickey Mantle." It is done in the exact style of a clock that was offered in our August 2004 sale originating from the collection of umpire Bill Jackowski. The piece was made by Salem, however, their logo is no longer present on the face and it remains in at least partially functional condition with some light general handling and age-related wear. Mantle was selected an All-Star for the twelfth consecutive season in 1963, however, he would only watch the annual event from the dugout after being sidelined by injury. It was one of (20) All-Star appearances he made in a storied career that spanned (18) seasons and saw his rise as one of the most celebrated players in history.
