Description: Pair of scarce 1939 M101-9 Sporting News Supplements team cards, including Yankees with Gehrig & DiMaggio (GD). Delicate, hard-to-find supplements measuring 10 1/2" x 15" display in outstanding overall condition despite the technical grades. Included are a New York Yankees team card dated Oct. 19, 1939 featuring the ailing Gehrig in his final season, along with DiMaggio, Dickey, Gomez, Henrich, McCarthy and all other members of the World Series team. The text "World Champions 1939 4 straight games" is stamped in block lettering under the caption. Also included is the losing World Series team from that year, the Cincinnati Reds, with a team card dated Nov. 2, 1939. Each card has two small holes in the upper left and right, along with minor creasing, fold lines and a few small tears not affecting the overall presentation of the pieces: GD.Final Bid: $158.00
