Description: Outstanding and large Babe Ruth bronze by Sullivan Art Works based on "The Babe Ruth Home Run Award" as presented to some of the most noted hitters of the modern era (NM) Large and detailed likeness of Ruth stands just under 27" tall on 12"x23" wooden pedestal base. The work is near exact replica of "The Babe Ruth Home Run Award" which was presented by the Ruth Family from 1998-2009. Recipients included Mark McGwire, Sammy Sosa, Barry Bonds, Jim Thome, Alex Rodriguez, and Ryan Howard. Marked "Sullivan" with the figural portion and there are descriptive placards affixed to both the front and back of the base. Obtained by our consignor from the maker at considerable cost ($12,000) and it is to the best of our knowledge the only example which has entered the marketplace. Includes copies of the original receipt(s), images of several of the players noted holding the trophies they were presented with, and some additional correspondence between the original owner and the maker: NM ($4,000-$6,000)Final Bid: $9,583.00
