Description: 1919-21 W514 near complete set (119 of 120 cards) incl. Ruth, Cobb, (26) additional Hall of Famers, and all "Black Sox" except Joe Jackson (Avg. GD) Near complete set is missing only card #15 Joe Jackson. Featured throughout are a host of Hall of Fame and other high profile players with the most noted being Babe Ruth (SGC 10 Poor) and Ty Cobb (SGC Auth). As is common with strip card issues, assessing technical grade can be difficult as they are, by nature, hand cut with a sometimes large variance in size and what is acceptable as "wear" to the edges/corners. In general, the balance of cards not listed (non-Hall of Famers) are in avg. VG condition and mixed throughout are a number better. There are (26) additional Hall of Famers with (12) of these in avg. GD/VG-VG condition incl. Speaker, Jennings, Youngs, Carey, Baker, Faber, Hooper, Lajoie, Schalk, Hornsby, Griffith, and Maranville; (6) would fall at slightly lesser GD level incl. Alexander, Mathewson, Sisler, Collins, Southworth, and Bancroft; Roush in PR condition; and (7) which are trimmed in close to the image incl. Johnson, McGraw, Crawford, Rice, Huggins, Wheat, and Stengel. Other notables (avg. GD) incl. Hal Chase, Kid Gleason, Swede Risberg, Buck Weaver, Ed Cicotte, Lefty Williams, Chick Gandil, Dick Kerr (very closely cut to image), and Hap Flesch (among the nicer condition cards in the group).
