Description: Rare International Football League prototype football by Rawlings as designed by Charles O. Finley (EX/MT-NM) One of only a handful of prototypes done at the request of Charles O. Finley in the 1980s for his proposed upstart League. The ball is by Rawlings with their familiar logo impressed in two places along with "International Football League" titling, the "IFL" logo, and Finley facsimile signature above "President-Founder." It features a pair of innovations which Finley felt would help on field including a pair of white stripes to aid in visibility. In addition, the surface is covered with circular impressions and not the more familiar raised bumps as used by the NFL. Tucked away many years ago, it remains well preserved with only the slightly hint of natural age related wear. The only example we have ever seen: EX/MT-NM ($400-$600)Final Bid: $666.00
