Description: 1950 Drake's Cookies near complete set (34 of 36 cards) (Range GD-VG/EX, Avg. VG, see description) Scarce cards were issued regionally, one per package of Drake's Cookies and are rarely offered in complete or near complete set form. With note to extreme condition sensitivity (black background on fronts runs to edges) this is a fairly substantive offering. Two cards graded by SGC incl. #24 Berra (SGC 40 VG) and #25 Rizzuto (SGC Authentic). We have examined the Rizzuto and suspect that the Authentic grade was given due to some color being added/filled in on background; it is possible that a small number of other cards in this set have also had color added. Keys: #5 Snider (EX appearance from front, back has paper/mounting residue and pencil mark), 6 Campanella (VG-VG/EX O/C, with color possibly added), 11 Hodges (GD with stronger appearance), 13 Doerr (GD/VG-VG), 14 Spahn (GD/VG), 19 Reese (GD/VG-VG), and 36 Slaughter (VG O/C).
