See a Picture of this Item 901 Historic September 30, 1951 Joe DiMaggio Final Regular Season game lineup card and ticket stub framed display piece. For most mortal players, Joe DiMaggio's 1951 season would be a relatively good year. He batted .263 with 109 hits, 22 doubles, 12 home runs, and 71 RBI's in just 119 games played. For Joe DiMaggio, it was abysmal. Other than possibly Ty Cobb, there has never been a player before or since Joe DiMaggio who demanded excellence on the field at all times. DiMaggio believed that because "There is always some kid who may be seeing me for the first or last time, I owe him my best". Whether an admirer or critic of DiMaggio, one can only hold such a sentiment with the highest regard. Matted and framed display features the original New York Yankees lineup card from DiMaggio's final regular season game played on September 30, 1951. The card measures 4"x5" with the original handwritten lineup penned by Yankees manager Casey Stengel including Mantle, Rizzuto, Berra, Mize, and DiMaggio. Signed "Stengel" by Casey Stengel at the bottom left corner. Period pencil notation, "Last Game 9/30" is written on the verso. Fittingly, the Yankees defeated the Red Sox by a score of 3-0. The display also includes a rare original ticket stub for the game played at Yankee Stadium. Very clean overall with small pencil notation on back in reference to the score, "R.S.-0 Yanks-3". The stub is seldom offered as DiMaggio did not announce his retirement until December of 1951; thusly, many fans had no specific reason to save the ticket stubs from the Sept. 30th game. Both pieces have been matted and framed with a reproduction black and white 8"x10" image of the classic 1951 image picturing DiMaggio walking with his son the number "5" visible to the camera. Unique offering of significant DiMaggio related items with notable rarity. Includes LOA from JSA (lineup card): Lineup Card: EX, Ticket stub: EX-MT ($7,500.00-$10,000.00) $16,000.00

The top of the ring has a diamond inset into a diamond shaped field surrounded by laurel decor. The ring, and in particular the decoration, exhibit some surface wear from age. Size 11.5. Lot includes a detailed letter of provenance from Allie Clark along with his personal 1947 World Series program signed on the front cover by Clark (GD-VG): Ring: VG-EX ($4,000.00-$5,000.00) $3,750.00

See a Picture of this Item 910 New York Yankees professional model baseball hat attributed to Mickey Mantle c.1955-65. Original navy blue hat with interlocking white "NY" logo on the front. Interior leather band retains its original Tim McAuliffe Inc. label (correct labeling for the referenced time period of 1955-65), along with "KM Pro" logo stamped into the leather. McAuliffe was the manufacturer of New York Yankees hats from 1948 through the mid-1960s. Specifically, this particular hat dates to the period between 1955 and 1965 as the NY logo differs from those on McAuliffe Yankees hats from 1949-54. Size stamping of 7 1/4 is also found impressed into the leather band alongside the KM Pro logo. Mantle is documented to have worn a size 7 1/4 hat as supported by several other known exemplars, two of which have direct provenance to Mantle. Mantle's uniform number "7" is written under the bill in period black marker and is also consistent with other previously documented exemplars from Mantle game worn Yankees hats. The black ink exhibits appropriate light "bleeding" to the edges retaining its original patination from aging and exposure to both the elements and perspiration. The hat remains in unaltered original condition showing evident game use including moderate 'buckling' to the interior leather headband from perspiration. Residue of perspiration and surface oxidation is also clearly visible under the bill of the hat with a pattern consistent with heavy use over several games. A frontal examination shows that the hat bill "breaks" from right to left. The direction of the "break" suggests its use by a person of right hand dominance. This break pattern is evident in numerous period images of Mickey Mantle (referenced in detail on the MEARS letter) wearing many different Yankees hats during the period of 1951-68. The hat was originally given to a Phillip Melkonian from the legendary Yankees equipment manager Pete Sheehy and descended within Melkonian's family. Along with Ruth, Gehrig, and DiMaggio, game used hats from Mickey Mantle are among the most desired of any Yankee player, with the offered example ranking as one of the finest to have been offered at auction. Includes LOA from MEARS Authentication, LOA from Lou Lampson, and letter of provenance from the Melkonian family: EX ($40,000.00-$50,000.00) DNS

The collection was assembled with an eye towards condition. For more than 70 years, bat maker Hillerich & Bradsby Co. produced a very limited number of these commemorative World Series souvenir bats exclusively for executives, players and select dignitaries from each of the season's two finalists. Prior to the 1990's, it is believed that the production run was limited to 150 bats annually, with that figure being substantially reduced thereafter. Finding the earliest examples in high-grade is a challenge. The bats in this group are generally EX-MT to NM-MT, averaging NM or better. ($10,000.00-$15,000.00) $5,500.00
