Description:1918 Christy Mathewson "Christy" autographed postcard with handwritten note (PSA/DNA "NM 7"). Real photo postcard showing a statue of German Emperor Wilhelm I which stood in Metz, France and was toppled after the city was retaken at the conclusion of World War I. It shown standing and then on its' side next to the large base on which it had stood. A handwritten note on the back reads, "The Hohenzollern family is now where it belongs. Too bad about the horse! This postcard is of Metz, Nov 24 18, Christy." Handwriting and signature have been graded "7" by PSA/DNA. Touch of light wear.
