Description: Lot of (2) Christy Mathewson related promotional pieces c.1910-20. Pair of pieces dating to Matty's playing days or shortly thereafter. It is unknown if they are "complete" or were part of larger displays. Includes slip of 4.75"x5.5" paper with "Mathewson uses Ajax Tires Guaranteed 5,000 Miles" text printed on. Creases/wrinkles and small chip is missing from left edge; heavy stock 7.75"x8.5" display with his portrait (with Horner copyright noted) and name printed on along with "The Greatest Pitcher Baseball Has Ever Known" text. Creasing and wrinkles along with some moderate corner/edge chipping and there are a few unobtrusive tack holes.
