Description: 1955 Bowman near-complete set (320) with (4) graded, including Mantle, Mays and Aaron. Classic Bowman set that sought to capitalize on the color TV craze of the time is notable for its large selection of Hall of Famers as well as for its unique high-number run of umpire cards. Four cards have been professionally graded: #s 179 Hank Aaron (SGC Authentic; minimum size not met); 184 Willie Mays (SGC Authentic; minimum size not met); 202 Mickey Mantle (SGC 2.5 GD+) and 277 Ed Runge umpire (PSA 5 EX). Other keys grade as follows: #s 1 Hoyt Wilhelm (PR), 22 Roy Campanella (VG), 23 Al Kaline (VG), 59 Whitey Ford (GD), 103 Eddie Mathews (GD+), 134 Bob Feller (GD), 168 Yogi Berra (VG/EX; miscut on reverse), 242 Ernie Banks (FR), 283 Nestor Chylack umpire (EX; miscut), 265 Al Barlick umpire (VG/EX OC), 303 Jocko Conlan umpire (VG). Balance of the set is mostly lower grade GD-VG, including some that do not meet the minimum size (possibly trimmed) and others with writing. Range: PR-EX (with note on min. size and writing).
