Description: Rare Rawlings "Executioner" style football helmet c.1920s. Highly desirable and scarce style is among the most sought after of all vintage football related equipment pieces. Crown has a pair of reinforcing straps across the top which also serve to secure it the balance of the helmet. Lower portion is comprised of two sections with the front including a nose guard which is sewn into the forehead strap and ear flaps. A back flap is anchored by elastic straps. Period cloth chin strap is affixed and intact. "Rawlings" marks appear on both the front and back (front being more faint and harder to decipher). In very strong overall condition with some expected use and minor general age related wear. The leather is supple and appears to have been oiled. Suspension style interior and padding is near fully intact. One of a select few executioner style helmets to have survived and surely among the better with regard to overall display value due to state of preservation: VG-EXEstimated Price Range: ($10,000-$15,000)
