Description: Historically significant May 24, 1931 Babe Ruth autographed baseball with homerun "No. 6" inscribed attribution - the 571st of his career and one of only a few noted in his hand (PSA/DNA, JSA, Beckett) Red and blue stitched Reach E.S. Barnard Official American League baseball has been signed "Babe Ruth" across the sweetspot in fountain pen. To the left he inscribed "No.6" and to the right is the date "May 24, 1931." The Yankees played the Athletics at Yankee Stadium that day and Ruth collected his 6th homerun of the season off Rube Walberg in the 6th inning. It would be the 571st of his career propelling him even further up the all-time list. He hit a total of (46) that year and it was one of (12) times that he lead the American League throughout his (22) seasons in baseball. Significance cannot be overstated with the offered representing one of only a handful of Ruth homerun balls with an attribution made directly by The Babe himself (in the form of his handwritten "No.6" notation). Fountain pen signature rates 8 out of 10 as does the handwritten homerun number notation. The date is generally of similar quality however some minor surface wear has left a few digits less discernable. Ball displays appropriate use/wear with soiling and a clear coat was applied long age. Includes full LOAs from JSA, Beckett, and PSA/DNA . JSA and Beckett specifically confirm that the "No.6" notation was in Ruth's hand: EX
