Description: Stan Musial autographed St. Louis Cardinals professional model hat c.1950s-60s. Classic style done in deep navy blue with red button accent and there is an "STL" logo embroidered on the front. "Rawlings" tag appears on the interior leather band which has size ("6 7/8") stamped in. Number "6" is written under the brim in vintage marker beside a faint (approx. 6-6/7 out of 10) "Stan Musial" ink signature. Very well preserved with some light use and age related wear. This style of hat/tagging was in use by the Cardinals c.1956-62 and this example is essentially identical (style, tagging, and size) to a hat which was offered with a Musial Family letter of provenance in a 2015 auction. Stan the Man played 22 seasons with his beloved St. Louis Cardinals compiling an impressive total of 3,630 hits, 475 home runs, 1,951 RBIs, and a lifetime batting average of .331. His appearance in 24 MLB All-Star Games is tied for the record in the history of the game with Willie Mays and Hank Aaron.
