Description: Exceptional 1976 Carl Yastrzemski Boston Red Sox professional model home jersey with original Yawkey armband and Massachusetts patch (SGC "Superior"). All original jersey issued to legendary Red Sox Hall of Famer Carl Yastrzemski for use during the 1976 season. Yaz was already established as one of the premier players in the game having collected a trio of batting titles, (6) Gold Gloves (he would win another in 1977) and in 1967 he was the American League MVP and earned a rare Triple Crown. His career spanned 1961-1983 with all of that time spent in Boston and he retired as the Red Sox career leader in hits, runs, RBI, singles, doubles, and games played. Pullover jersey has "Red Sox" jersey on the front and number "8" on back. McAuliffe tag appears in the collar along with "42" size tag. On the front tail are "1976" year and wash tags. On the left sleeve are a rare original "Massachusetts Bicentennial" patch and black memorial armband worn in honor of Tom Yawkey. Outstanding use and wash wear are evident throughout. Red Sox jerseys from this time period are seldom offered in all original form and the offered is one of the most impressive we have handled.
