Description: UPDATED DESCRIPTION: Fine 1959 Ty Cobb autographed baseball. Spalding W.Giles Official National League baseball has been signed "Ty Cobb" on the side panel. Green fountain pen signature rates a perfect 10 out of 10. Ball has soiling and surface discoloration throughout. It has been additionally signed by Chicago Cubs players Ernie Banks (clubhouse signed) and Chick King and there is a handwritten "April 1, 1959 Giants + Cubs" notation (written in unknown hand). The two teams had faced each other in a Spring Training game and a period newspaper account confirms that Cobb was in the stands. Among the strongest Cobb autographs we have seen on a baseball.
