Description: Extremely scarce Gino Marchetti Baltimore Colts professional model jersey c.1950s. One of the rarest of all Pro Football Hall of Fame member game jerseys the offered garment embodies the very essence of the game of football from the golden era of the 1950-60s period. Royal blue durene shirt retains its original "89" uniform numerals on front, back, and both sleeves. MacGregor manufacturer's label remains affixed to the tail front with size 48 indicator and additional wash instructions flag tag. The evident use and battle scars present on the jersey are nothing short of superlative. Several period team repairs are visible on the shirt along with areas of thinning, few small holes, and fraying to collar/sleeve areas all of which are wonderfully appropriate for one of the more feared defensive lineman in NFL history. The uniform numerals on front and back show equally impressive use with stitching reinforcement executed to repair their countless abuse from Marchetti's battles in the trenches. Marchetti professional model game jerseys are coveted within football collecting circles as among the most elusive of any Pro Football Hall of Fame member. Through searches from hobby auction records and other pricing databases we were not able to locate another Marchetti game jersey having been offered to the collecting public. The jersey is being offered for the first time publicly directly from the Hall of Fame member's personal collection and is certain to rank as one of the rarest of its medium to have been sold at auction.
