Description: Superb 1959 Gino Marchetti Baltimore Colts NFL Championship presentational Rolex wristwatch. Fine Rolex Bombe 14K gold wristwatch as presented to Gino Marchetti for the 1959 NFL Championship. "Baltimore Colts 1959 World Champions" lettered on the face around a team logo. The familiar Rolex crown logo appears at 12 O'clock position. "Gino Marchetti #89" is engraved on the back. The watch presents in stunnng original condition remaining housed in its original hinge lid green leather case and exterior Rolex cardboard box. Leather band shows light general use and watch remains in running order retaining its original Rolex hang tags. Again meeting the New York Giants in a Championship showdown, after having defeating same the previous season, the Colts would claim their second consecutive NFL title. The game was a closely fought battle that showcased one of the greatest games of Marchetti's illustrious Hall of Fame career. Marchetti's play was highlighted by a famed fourth down stop of the Giants offense in the thd quater that turned the game toward a Colts victory. One of very few 1959 Colts championship watches to have entered the marketplace and certainly among the more significant with note to Marchetti's significance to the franchise and 1959 championship.
