Description: Walter Payton "NFL Player Of The Year" Gold Helmet Award. Large presentational piece stands approx. 11" tall with the Lucite upper portion having a gold colored figural helmet inside. Affixed to the front of the wooden base is a metal placard reading, "Gold Helmet National Awards, Walter Payton, NFL Player of The Year, Presented by King TV, Coldwell Banker, Seattle Seahawks, University of Washington Athletic Dept." Undated and presumed to likely relate to the 1985 season in which Payton lead the Chicago Bears to a Super Bowl Championship. Light scattered wear which is a touch more accentuated in a few areas.
