Description: Tommy Heinsohn Boston Celtics head coach document archive with important and interesting content c.1970s. Fascinating archive of paperwork as personally kept by Tommy Heinsohn during his tenure as Boston Celtics head coach. It was during this time that he was named Coach of The Year in 1973 and lead them to a pair of NBA Championships in 1974 and 1976. Nearly all material is broken down by opponent and in a folder related to a specific team and in most cases a specific season. Includes many pages of handwritten notes/plays, pages of printed plays (some with his handwritten notations), commentary on players and general team related conduct/business, file copy correspondence, a handful of letters sent to him, officiating notes, and other material. In total there are around (50) different file folders. Also included are (5) mimeographed playbooks which presumably mirror those which would have been handed out to team members. An unprecedented glimpse into the mind of one of the great players and coaching figures in Boston Celtics history and a wealth of knowledge. Mild scattered handling and storage wear.
