Description: Outstanding Charles Barkley autographed 1992 USA Basketball Olympic professional model jersey (Direct Provenance). Classic white mesh jersey with red and blue screened on USA Basketball insignia across the front as worn by members of the iconic 1992 "Dream Team". The 1992 US Men's Olympic team arguably featured the greatest collection of talent ever assembled on one basketball team to include Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Patrick Ewing, Charles Barkley, Scottie Pippen, and David Robinson. The team obliterated their opponents throughout the Olympic tournament by an average of 44 point deficits en route to capturing the gold medal. Although the selection of Charles Barkley had been initially questioned by some within the management of the US team he went on to lead the Dream Team in scoring with an 18 point per game average. The offered jersey presents with USA screened on insignia across the front along with matching "14". Back of shirt has "Barkley" in red lettering above "14" screened in red/blue. Proper Champion manufacturer's label affixed to the tail front with size 50 indicator as well as "USA Basketball Designed and Tailored Exclusively 1992 Summer Olympic Games" tag. Supplemental "3" Extra Body Length" tag found inside the tail. The jersey exhibits fine use and wash wear throughout most notably to the tagging areas. The right front side of the jersey also displays an area of staining which potentially appears to be vestiges from some blood spatter. Several smaller spots of a similar nature can be found on the back of the jersey near the bottom portion. Barkley has signed the front of the jersey in black sharpie. Documented Dream Team Olympic jerseys are properly regarded by collectors as the most coveted of any modern era basketball uniform type with scant few ever having entered the public market. Jersey was part of a prominent private collection (along with many other jerseys of note within this auction) and was obtained directly from Charles Barkley. Rare and important offering with relation too one of the key members of the iconic 1992 USA Dream Team.
