Description: Extremely rare Willie Mays autographed Polo Grounds stadium seat with double figural end panels. Very desirable cast iron and wooden seat from the Polo Grounds has figural "NY" end panels on both sides. The upper back slat has been signed "Willie Mays" and dated 1981 in marker rating 7/8 out of 10. The surfaces appear to be largely original showing wear consistent with long term outdoor use as intended. Ideal for display, this seat has number "24" lettered on the top slat which is the number that Mays made famous during his time with the Giants. There is some scattered pitting/chipping and the upper slat has partially split. An extremely desirable configuration with double figural ends and only of perhaps two or three Polo Grounds seats signed by Mays we have seen.
