Description: 1947 Quincy Trouppe Cleveland Buckeyes Negro League trophy as Best Manager. Original handled trophy cup has "Louis B. Seltzer Trophy to Quincy Troupe - Mgr.- Cleveland Buckeyes - Negro - American League 1947" engraved on the front. It stands atop a black plastic base to measure 15" tall and the figural on top has broken off. As detailed in the book "Integrating Cleveland Baseball", "...Trouppe was honored by Louis Seltzer, edition of the Cleveland Press, as best manager in the Negro League..." The Buckeyes has won the Negro American League Pennant in 1947 but would loose to the New York Cubans in the World Series. Trouppe has lead the team, for which he also played catcher, to a (44-25-1) record. There is mild general surface wear and tarnish throughout.
