Description: 1976 Cincinnati Reds World Series Championship ring. Striking design with the top face having a relief of the famed World Series trophy with a large .5 ct diamond set in the center. Text around the beveled edge reads "Cincinnati Reds '76 World Champions." The name "Zuraw" appears on one shank with "Big Red Machine" below. Opposite has a rendering of Riverfront Stadium with "Reds 4 Yankees 0" titling and the National League logo. Size (11 1/2) and marked "Balfour 10K" on the interior band. (30) grams. Very light general wear remaining housed within its original Balfour hinged lid box. The reigning World Champion 1976 Reds team picked up right where they had left off in 1975. The team finished the season with a record of 102-60 lapping the second place Dodgers by ten games. After completing a three game sweep of the Phillies the Big Red Machine rolled over the New York Yankees in a four game sweep to cement their place as one of the finest teams in MLB history. This ring (Along with it's sister 1975 ring in this auction) soundly rank among the most significant and desirable championship rings of their type.
