Description: 1969 Willie McCovey National League Most Valuable Player Award: Dieges & Clust Office Display Example. Period rendering of McCovey's 1969 NL MVP award plaque as once displayed within the front offices of noted metalwork company Dieges & Clust. Black wooden painted plaque measures 16" across with octagonal silver plated placard affixed. Solid brass bust of Commissioner K.M. Landis is positioned below the second base position of a baseball diamond which is titled "Most Valuable Player American League" and notes "Willie McCovey San Francisco Giants". The year "1969" appears within crossed bat and ball applique. General light surface wear including some tarnish to silver plating and few scratches/small indentations to wooden plaque. The offered example was one a very small population displayed at Dieges & Clust along with Roger Maris and other star players of the era. Very handsome display piece related to one of the great sluggers in MLB history: EX-MT
