Description: 1961-66 Doug Atkins Chicago Bears player's contracts (3) with related material. Interesting archive of material related to Hall of Famer Doug Atkins and his time with the Chicago Bears. Most notable are a trio of NFL League issued Standard Player Contracts as issued by the Bears retaining Atkins' services for the 1961, 1965, and 1966 seasons. Each is signed by both Atkins and George Halas in period ink rating 8 out of 10 or better. Contracts have typical fold lines and some general handling/storage wear which is more pronounced along the upper edge of the 1965. Also included is a binder of Atkins related paperwork including numerous file/carbon copies of letters sent to him by the team (many from Halas, none signed), pages of handwritten notes related to Atkins (some of which are initialed by Halas and it is possible that he wrote at least some portion/portions of the text in some cases), and a life insurance beneficiary card which is signed by Atkins with his full name.
