Description: Interesting lot of c.1939-1960s Chicago Bears related paper/ephemera incl. (3) Sid Luckman autographed letters. Highlights include several 1939 dated file copy letters (unsigned) sent by George Halas to Sid Luckman while he was at Columbia in attempts to recruit him to play for the Bears; a pair of 1939 dated Sid Luckman signed letters on Columbia stationary written to Halas in response; 1939 dated letter on Bears stationary signed by Lou Little related to a meeting with Halas and Luckman (written to Halas); a number of (unsigned) file copy letters addressed to John Lujack with relation to the Bears dating to the 1940s and some other Lujack related ephemera; 1954 dated letter from Lujack to Halas signed "Johnny"; (2) 1964 dated letters from Lujack to Halas signed "Johnny"; typed accounts of testimony given by George Halas regarding Lujack which has been initialed by Halas; typed form with handwritten notations ranking each player on the 1963 team in a variety of categories; and some additional pieces.
